What is Field Leveling?
Field leveling is the process of preparing the land evenly so there are no high or low spots. The primary purpose is to ensure that rain water is distributed evenly across the plot while eliminating standing water and runoff.
We use the Trimble® FieldLevel™ II system which streamlines surveying, designing and leveling. We can efficiently distribute water by maintaining grade, minimize water costs and improve farm productivity, and improve yields by controlling excess water.
This method provides reduced fuel costs since pumps don’t need to run as often as they do with pivot or furrow irrigation.
Benefits of Field Leveling
- Higher crop yields
- Improved weed control
- Larger field capacity
- Faster transplanting
- Easier direct seeding
- Lower labor requirements
- More efficient use of water
- Less water is required
- Even crop growth
- Soil conservation
